I currently open my books bi-monthly (every other month). I usually open them mid-month and announce it via my Instagram feed and story. Once the announcement is made you can submit a request through the booking link found in my Instagram bio. This link remains live for 24-72 hours at a time. If I am interested in moving forward with your tattoo request, you’ll receive an email from me (1-4 weeks post submission) with information on how to proceed with booking, including a price quote range, clarification questions, if any, and a booking link. If I am not interested in moving forward with your tattoo request, you will receive an email from me (1-4 weeks post submission) with other artists in the area that may be better suited for your design idea.
Email HayleyThomasTouchUps@gmail.com for a touch up. I have limited time each month for touch ups but want to make sure that your tattoo is looking fresh and that you are happy with it. Getting in for a touch up may take a few months, so please be patient, but know that I will get you into the studio and look fresh as soon as I can.**Tip: A quick way to get in for a touch up would be to book a new tattoo with me, as I’m always happy to add on a touch up to an existing booking.
I do not discuss prices via instagram. You will receive a price range for your project via email after you submit a request through the link in my bio. My minimum at the shop is $200, although you can receive tattoos for under $200 at my pop up events. The cost of your tattoos includes, but is not limited to: size, placement, design intricacy, total number of designs, design time, materials needed
Studio: I accept cash, or Venmo for a 2% fee.Pop Ups/Flash Events: I accept cash, or Venmo for a $5 fee.
- First of all, listen to your body and what it needs. - Leave the Derm Shield/Bandage on for a minimum 24 hours- Take the Derm Shield/Bandage off after 4-5 days. Pull the bandage straight out (like a command strip) under warm water in the direction of hair growth. - Once the bandage is removed, wash gently with unscented antibacterial soap. I recommend unscented Dr. Bronner’s or unscented Dial soap. A little does the truck, no need to scrub. - Pat dry with a clean paper towel or let air dry- Put on a thin layer of unscented lotion. I recommend Lubriderm or Dr. Bronner’s unscented salve. You may also use tattoo salves, coconut oil, jojoba oil or cocoa butter for moisturizing in the long term. - Moisturize 2-3x daily until healed (about 2-3 weeks from getting your tattoo)- Continue to moisturize for 6 months to a year for optimal healing- No soaking for a minimum of 2 weeks for fine line, 3 weeks for bolder line or heavy shading and blackwork. - No sun for 2 weeks, sunscreen can be applied after 2-3 weeks as long as scabs are healed. - No working out/sweating when the Derm Shield/Bandage is on - The Derm Shield/Bandage is water resistant, but I recommend quick showers for the days that you have the bandage on. -The full healing process can take 2-6 weeks. Scabbing or peeling may occurs —- DO NOT PICK SCABS OR PEEL SKIN- Consult a physician at the first sign of an adverse reaction (i.e. swelling, infection, illness, allergic reaction, or disease); tattoos should be considered permanent, and can only be removed via surgical or laser procedures which may leave scarring. Outside of the normal limits of healing, any concerns that your body art has resulted in complications, infection or disease should be reported to:Denver Department of Environmental HealthPublic Health Investigations-Body Art101 W Colfax Ave, Suite 800Denver, CO 80202phicomments@denvergov.org720-865-5401You may also report to your artist any concerns about complications, infections or disease. The rules and regulations governing body art establishments and body artists require that the Body Artists report those conditions to the Department within 24 hours of discovery.
For new tattoos, the only way to get in touch is via my submission process when my books open. I do not check/read DMs and my email is not for use unless I contact you.If we are currently working on a large scale project, you may reach out via the email thread we have been communicating through to book your next session or ask questions. For touch ups email: HayleyThomasTouchUps@gmail.com** Touch ups may take a few months to book, so please be patient. For events email: HayleyThomasTattoos@gmail.com
I only check my email when I need to book clients, which means your email may sit in my inbox for a couple weeks. That being said, at this point I do respond to every tattoo submission and email that I get, so please just be patient.
Heck yes! If y’all want to get a tattoo together you can submit one tattoo request and put a note in the tattoo description section that alerts me to the fact that there are two or more of you!
Flash/Pop Up Events are often hosted by a third party, but we plan on having flash days at Horrid Tattoos as well! At these events, I offer a set of flash (5-10 pieces) ranging from $80 to $200. These tattoos are first come first serve and I post about them to my Instagram story and feed. I currently have a monthly flash event with CLP Jewelry every First Friday from 11am to 5pm where I offer hand poked finger designs as well as machine tattoos.
My flash designs are repeatable, whereas my pre-drawns are not! Custom designs are created after the client and I discuss what they are looking for.
Short answer? Whenever I feel like it! However, I am trying to release pre-drawn or design concepts once per month.
I generally release flash for Pop Ups/Flash events only, but I would like to create my own book of flash in the future.
Yes! I will be doing some traveling and will post about it to my Instagram when I do.
It's generally recommended to avoid getting a tattoo during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, as potential risks and complications are still being studied. Consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice.I will not tattoo you while you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
While tattoo removal methods like laser treatments have improved, complete removal can be challenging and may leave some scarring or discoloration. It's best to think carefully before getting a tattoo, as removal can be costly and time-consuming.
With proper care and UV protection, tattoos can last a lifetime. However, factors like aging, sun exposure, and skin elasticity can cause some fading or blurring over time.
Certain medical conditions or medications can affect the tattooing process or healing. It's essential to disclose your full medical history to your artist for a safe experience.
It is best to be well hydrated prior to your tattoo appointment. That means drink lots of water and moisturize the area you will be getting tattooed in the days preceding your appointment. It is also important to get plenty of rest and eat a meal before your appointment. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area, and avoid alcohol or caffeine on the day of your session.
While most body areas can be tattooed, some placements (like palms, soles, or near eyes) may be riskier or more painful. Consult your artist for recommendations based on your design and comfort level.
